Arab Journalists surveying attitudes on issues they face in 2008
NAAJA and the SPJ-Arab Journalism Section are polling members on what they feel are the most important issues they face in 2008. As soon as the surveys are completed, I will post the results. One immediate issues is that of "diversity." Many Arab American journalists believe the definition of "diversity" is too narrow and excludes them from how mainstream journalism views the issue, and also from groups like UNITY, which Arab American journalists continue to press to include us as equal members.
If you are an Arab American journalist and have not received the survey, email me at rayhanania@comcast.net and I will send you one. We are trying to be as inclusive as possible.
Thanks
Ray Hanania
