Maligned treatment of Iranians by media
Many in the media today wish they had questioned the real reasons why we went to war in Iraq as the White House and Rumsfield’s Pentagon beat the drums of war leading up to the invasion.
Are we in the mainstream media doing it again towards Iran?
Everyday, we see on network TV news “reliable” reports of dastardly actions by Iran from “senior administration officials.”
My contacts in the military here in San Diego say the build-up of the fleet in the Persian Gulf is unprecedented, and largely ignored in the media. It’s massive!
If “senior White House officials” repeatedly say Iran and Iranians are evil over and over and over, the public reading those stories will begin to believe it. Nazi German generals knew this perfectly – the BIG lie.
When we think of diversity, we should also include people of Middle Eastern descent.
Did you know that the first laws abolishing slave labor and terrorism, and that established freedoms of association and religion (in our First Amendment) were found in the “Great Cylinder” of Cyrus of Iran (539 B.C.)?
What kind of lives do these prominent Iranians live:
Far Nazen – Yahoo’s executive Vice President;
Farong Naderi, Assoc. Dir., NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadema; V.P. of Google;
Parisa Khosrin, CNN’s Managing Editor;
Pierre Omidyar, Founder of the E-Bay website?
Are we covering their stories?
