Names and salaries of 900,00 federal employees can be withheld
The names, salaries and positions of more than 900,000
federal employees can legally be withheld by the government
from the public, Chief U.S. District Judge Norman Mordue
ruled Sept. 30.
It's a decision that doesn't sit well with
representatives of Syracuse University's Transactional
Records Access Clearinghouse, or TRAC, which tried to get
the information two years ago and filed a federal lawsuit
when it was denied, said David Burnham, co-director of the
agency.
