Government e-mail, even from home, scrutinized

More and more government agencies are beginning to acknowledge that e-mail sent by government officials regarding government business should be public, even if it is sent from a personal computer or cell phone. That was the conclusion of attorneys for Greenwich, Conn., regarding e-mails sent among members of the town's Board of Estimate and Taxation, according to a story in the Greenwich Time. Wise advice. The public's business is the public's business, regardless of the medium.
