Federal judge says no First Amendment right of access to executions in Arkansas

A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by journalists in Arkansas who were seeking access to lethal-injection executions, saying there is no First Amendment right of access to executions. While that ruling might stand in Arkansas, it isn't that way everywere. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which covers some of the western states, has ruled otherwise. See story.
