Texas sheriff says he'll jail reporters if they keep interfering in his business
Sheriff Santiago Barrera Jr. in Duval County, Texas, said he would jail reporters if they kept "interfering" in his business. Apparently the sheriff was angry that a journalist wrote about his son's arrest of public intoxication and resisting arrest. When the reporter interviewed Barrera about another story the sheriff said "If you guys keep interfering with my business, I'm going to have you arrested." Journalists alerted the county attorney and the sheriff later acknowledged that he was ticked off at the story about his son and also implied that he really couldn't jail a journalist over such a thing, saying "Of course, what can you do to (journalists)?"
