Sign up for ASJA conference by March 19
Last year I attended the
ASJA Writers Conference in New York and found it a great place to meet editors from national magazines.
This
is definitely a different clientele than SPJers, with many of the
attendees working on books and talking about platforms and such. But
there are opportunities to hear great speakers and explore new (more
lucrative) markets.
It's a little pricey, but within a
freelancer's budget if you share a can find a comrade with whom to
share a room. I won't be able to attend this year (it's April 29-30),
but would love to have someone post about the experience here. If
anyone is interested in attending, leave a comment here.
