FREELANCING 101

SPJ-LA and MediaBistro team up to teach you
the secrets to a successful career in freelance writing

Tired of doing stories about test scores and city council meetings? Want to be a journalist and be your own boss? Are you full of story ideas and don't know where to get them published? Find the answers to these questions and more at the "Freelancing 101" seminar this Thursday in Burbank.

The Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has assembled a panel of experts, including Mary Melton, executive editor of Los Angeles magazine and freelancers Michael Szymanski and Brad Schreiber. Former Los Angeles Times reporter George Garrigues will talk about the trials and tribulations of publishing your own book. MediaBistro.com is co-sponsoring this fabulous event.

The dinner and panel discussion are open to the public. Spots are still available but we need you to RSVP ASAP!
