More freelance job listings

From JournalismJobs.com:

The Real Deal, a monthly magazine (circulation 65,000) and a daily web site (www.therealdeal.com) about New York City's real estate is expanding its coverage of various national markets. We are looking for freelancers in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, San Fransisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C. For the right candidates, the possibility exists that this may become a steady gig.

Our readership is not the home buyer. Rather, our readership includes brokers, developers, bankers, appraisers, planners, architects, and anyone interested in the change, fiscal underpinnings, and growth of cities.

We want reporters who can tell a good and careful story about neighborhood economics, conflicts over the urban fabric, and development deals. Candidates must have strong business reporting and hard-news backgrounds, and the ability to dig deep into their real estate markets.

If this sort of challenge appeals to you, kindly send an email to Stuart W. Elliott at jobs@therealdeal.com along with two writing samples. We offer per-word pay rates competitive with other New York City trade magazines. We are ready to hire!

Seeking Freelancer to Conduct Celebrity Interviews
(pay not specified) We are looking for freelancers with experience interviewing celebrities. We are a New Jersey based monthly magazine intending to incorporate profiles on local celebrities. The assignments will be on a freelance basis and the writer must be willing to help with finding and setting up their own interviews, as well as writing the story. Please only send résumé and clips to sara@laurindapub.com if you have experience interviewing and writing about high profile personalities as well as interacting with their PR people.

# More Full Time Staff Jobs

Thursday, June 28, 2007 5:49 PM by Ruth Prins
I have been out of work for nearly 10 months now so I cannot afford to join SPJ, the National Press Club or other "professional" organizations in order to job search. And what I need right now is a job; I do not have the luxury of adjunct analysis over fair reporting or other issues. I am a business reporter who covers capital markets and financing vehicles such as equities and fixed income  investments. I also cover the gamut of beats from murder trials to luxury lifestyle.
I am open to relocation in the U.S., particulary New England, or the other England in the UK - provided there relocation assistance. Can provide resume.

This may be shooting myself in the foot,but...try www.mediabistro.com, www.jobster.com,  www.journalism.com

All three sites have listings for writers and none of the charge a fee. Much good luck.

Ruth,
Journalismjobs.com is a free source. Poynter.org also has a job board available to anyone. Good luck with the job hunt.
