How Do You "Beat" Burnout?

I'm exhausted. I'm currently working on a 3,000-word feature story and a 1,800-word department, wrangling the editorial interns, putting Web-exclusive copy on my magazine's site, and writing/editing items for the calendar section. Ah! I'm not quite burned out, but I do need some pick-me-up tips. Anyone have any weekend rituals or stress-relieving activities they'd like to share?

On my days off, I try to stay away from my computer, television, or anything that gives me access to news. It gives me a nice break from reality.

Instead, I go hiking with my boyfriend, grab lunch with friends, and focus my energy toward spending quality time with my boxer (who is like a three-year-old child to me)!

Take a day off!! Once you get all your stuff done, take a personal day if you can, or spend your weekend doing nothing you don't want to do. Lounge and relax and rest up for the next week! Also, learn to say 'no.' You can pass on a project occasionally if you're already near capacity. Your sanity is worth it.
