International Journalism Sources - Part 1
Periodically I receive requests from people interested in other organizations working within the realm of international journalism. I would like to encourage people to begin posting sources they use for international information. Here are a few of my own bookmarks:
Africa Reports
Africa Reports , the publication arm of the Institute of War & Peace Reporting, developing Africa programme, undertakes training, reporting and capacity building projects in support of Africa media.
IWPR-Africa is supported by the Danish foreign ministry, and the Open Society Institute. IWPR-Africa is a nonprofit organization based in South Africa, supporting education and development. IWPR-Africa is a partner in the IWPR International network, including the London-based IWPR-Europe and IWPR (US) in Washington, D.C.
International Communications Forum
The International Communications Forum was founded by media magnate, Bill Porter, in 1991. The ICF is devoted to media ethics and freedoms of expression and information. It believes that these need to be accompanied by a high sense of responsibility and respect for every audience.
Media Guardian
International media news is a available in a variety of formats.
WITS Journalism
WITS Journalism is a new program for aspirant and working journalists. Located in Johannesburg, South Africa, it is well placed to work closely with the media industry and working professionals to ensure a rich and exciting center of teaching, training, research and public engagement.
Please feel free to post other URL addresses of sources of international media that you find valuable.
