Beijing Games and Media Freedom
The Beijing Olympic games are just a few months away and so far we have not seen practical examples of the promised relaxing of the rules for Chinese and foreign journalists.
The Beijing government has always been very clever with the way it deals with issues we in the West call human rights or civil rights. They give with one hand and take away with another.
Reporters Without Borders has an ongoing project that keeps an eye on the progress -- or lack there of -- in China related to media freedom and the Olympics. Here is the link:http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=25234
