Once shackled, is China's media now going too far?
I got the following comment from a person involved in a China-related discussion group.
I never thought I'd say this, but I wish that
there were more controls on CCTV broadcasts. Today, there were scenes of an
earthquake victim buried under mounds of concrete. He was speaking to
reporters. I somehow expected a Hollywood-style ending, but they showed the
rescue efforts, which failed, and he was pulled out dead, with close-ups of his
bloody face. I told my kid too leave the room, it was too heartbreaking.
So, from we have seen on television, how would you rate the pictures we are getting out of China following the earthquake?
And if anyone with access cares, maybe we can get this cross posted on the Ethics Committee blog.
