Changes on the Way at the Daily Trojan

Less than two months after a student resigned as editor of the Daily Trojan at the University of Southern California, a vice president at the school has agreed to make the newspaper's budget more transparent and provide the editor in chief more access to the paper's website.

Vice President Michael Jackson agreed to the changes after they were recommended by a task force that had been established to look into proposals that had been made last year by the Daily Trojan's then-Editor in Chief Zach Fox.

In December, several student newspapers across the country published an editorial that blasted the USC administration for blocking Fox's attempt to be reappointed as the newspaper's editor. Fox, who had been pushing for several changes at the newspaper, responded to the administration's actions by resigning as editor near the end of his term.
