Oklahoma chapter is OK
Some might recognize the headline as a play on the state's license plate.
I can report that it is more than OK, after meeting with several board members at the home of Mick and Sue Henin in Norman, Okla., Wednesday. Mick is a capitol reporter for the Tulsa World.
The chapter is led by President Scott Cooper. It has been talking about starting its own Legal Defense Fund that would provide grants for Oklahoma residents and journalists to fight open records and First Amendment battles.
Oklahoma City is also the home of the Oklahoma City National Memorial, which commemorates the April 19, 1995, bombing of the federal building downtown. The memorial and nearby museum are moving enough. For journalists, much of story is told with photos, video and stories journalists did and there is a small segment of the tour dedicated to the news coverage that day.
