A gift from Truman

A special thanks to the Truman State student chapter in Kirksville, Mo. for a donation it sent to the Legal Defense Fund. Donations help SPJ meet the growing demand for legal assistance we are getting from journalists. Those who follow this blog know that there are many battles being waged for open records and for the right for journalists to do their jobs without government intervention.

Your chapter can help too. We again are asking each chapter to donate a basket of items of regional significance valued between $50 and $75 to our annual LDF auction that will be in Washington DC in October. Send your baskets to Heather Porter at headquarters. You can also follow the path of Truman State and host an event and share the proceeds with LDF.

Checks can be sent to HQ at 3909 Meridian St. Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Thank you Truman State and thank you SPJ members and chapters for your support of LDF.
