Boomers Ready To Go Bust
The Indianapolis Star and WTHR Channel 13 in Indy are teaming up this week to present a close look at the financial realities facing the nation's 78 million baby boomers. Their "Are Boomers Ready to Retire?" uses polling data to show that many boomers aren't prepared to afford the standard of living they expect in their golden years. Sunday's first story, "Future Shock" by the Star's Tim Evans, mixes anecdotes and analysis by experts with data revealing that more than 80 percent of Indiana residents expect to be better off financially, or at least doing the same, during retirement while 60 percent don't have enough saved in retirement plans to carry them through their final years. The accompanying videos from WTHR focus on Boomer health, housing and financial planning. This is a nice example of synergy between print and broadcast. www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=SPECIAL15
Anyone else out there have a story on retirement that they'd like to recommend?
