Five Years of War
To mark the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, Reuters and Media Storm collaborated to create the powerful "Bearing Witness." The Web package combines brilliant photographs of the fighting and everyday Iraqi life, video interviews with some of the journalists who have covered the war, and maps showing the locations of Iraq's oil fields, people displaced by the war and the danger zones for journalists. The highlight of the Web story is an interactive timeline that mixes photos and words to outline the war's history. Together, the package's words, images and sound covey just how dangerous the war has been for American soldiers, Iraqi citizens and journalists.
