MEETING OF THE OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS
BY TELECONFERENCE
DECEMBER 7, 2005
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
With President David Carlson presiding, a conference call of the Society of Professional Journalists Executive Committee was called to order for the purpose of reviewing the Society's audited financial statement at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2005.
ROLL CALL
In addition to Carlson, the following were in attendance: Secretary/Treasurer Bruce Cadwallader; Vice President for Campus Chapter Affairs Mead Loop; Immediate Past President Irwin Gratz; Executive Director Terry Harper; Controller Jake Koenig; Associate Executive Directors Chris Vachon and Julie Grimes; and Anita Sherman, Amada Meko and Denise Poor, Greenwalt Sponsel & Co.
AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENT REVIEW
Anita Sherman, partner with the public accounting firm Greenwalt Sponsel & Co., the Society's independent auditor, led the committee through a review of the 2005 audit and resulting audited financial statement. She stated that audit had gone very smoothly and that the Society was in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
The staff was excused briefly from the call in order for the committee to ask any questions they might have about management of the Society. No irregularities were reported.
AUDIT ACCEPTED
Upon proper motion and second by Gratz and Loop, respectively, the audited financial statement for the Society of Professional Journalists for the fiscal year ending July 31, 2005 was accepted unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the committee, President Carlson declared the meeting adjourned at 2:35 p.m.
