MEETING OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES
SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS
SEPTEMBER 20, 2012

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
With President John Ensslin presiding, the meeting of the house of delegates of the Society of Professional Journalists was called to order at 1:01 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Marriott Harbor Beach, in conjunction with the Societys annual convention at the Excellence in Journalism conference.
NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT
Immediate Past President: Hagit Limor announced the following list of candidates:
President-elect: David Cuillier
Secretary-treasurer: Dana Neuts
At-large director: Carl Corry, Andy Schotz
Campus adviser at-large: Kym Fox
Student Representative: Mary Kenney, Meg Wagner, Mark Smith, Megan McGinnes
Upon proper motion and second from Lauren Bartlett, Los Angeles Pro Chapter, and Eric Francis, Arkansas Pro Chapter, the house of delegates accepted the nominations.
Limor explained new voting procedures for One Member, One Vote. The candidates for office in attendance then addressed the delegates. Mark Smith was not present to give a speech.
SUBMISSION OF RESOLUTIONS
Ensslin gave instructions to submit proposed resolutions to Resolutions Committee Chairman Mac McKerral.
CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Ensslin presented the Chapter of the Year Awards and congratulated winning chapters.
Small Chapter of the Year St. Louis Pro
Large Chapter of the Year Northern California Pro
VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH
Ensslin asked that all volunteers recognized as Volunteer of the Month stand and be recognized.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the house of delegates, Ensslin declared the meeting adjourned at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
