Meet a New SPJ Cleveland Board Member... Marie Catanese

Marie Catanese is a young professional who joined SPJ while attending Cleveland State University in pursuit of her BA in Journalism.  She was not only a member of her SPJ student chapter, she served as its vice president and then president before graduating in 2006.  So it's no surprise her leadership skills, journalistic passion, and willingness to serve would put her on a fast track to become a Cleveland SPJ Pro Chapter board member.

After interning with Cleveland Magazine and handling the duties of news editor at CSU's newspaper, The Cauldron, she landed her first professional writing job with the Sun Newspapers chain, covering and reporting news and events in several suburbs with her stories published in four different weekly editions.

In February 2008, Marie accepted the Staff Writer position with The Tax Projects Group, LLP (TPG), headquarted in Cleveland.

"This new position will allow me to use my interviewing and writing skills in a different way," notes Marie.
