
Campaign 2008:
SPJ is seeking qualified individuals to serve as officers and directors for 2008-2009. The board of directors provides vision, direction and leadership to SPJ, the nation's largest journalism organization. Elections will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, in conjunction with the SPJ Convention and National Journalism Conference. Narrative Writing Workshop:
SPJ invites early career reporters and front-line editors from small and mid-size daily newspapers to step out of the inverted pyramid and into the art of the storytelling! Through SPJ's Narrative Writing Workshops, participants will learn options for reinvigorating the writing craft. New dates announced for 2008 register today!
Citizen Journalism Academy:
A new breed of part-time, volunteer and citizen journalists is emerging and gaining momentum in the media community. To further educate these self-proclaimed journalists on the responsible tenets of professional journalism, SPJ will conduct one-day training programs around the country this summer. Participants will see how these practices can increase their reach while leading to a strong reputation within their communities and across the world. Registration is now open, so sign up today!
