Former Davidson sheriff remembers the world's most famous anonymous source

Former Davidson County Sheriff Hank Hillin, who is a retired FBI agent, has known W. Mark Felt since the '50s. Now that the world knows Felt, 91, as Watergate's "Deep Throat," the former sheriff tells WSMV that Felt must have talked to reporter Bob Woodward to try to expose wrongdoing. The story also points out two other Nashville connections to Watergate: lawyer Jim Neal prosecuted Haldeman and Erlichman, and former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson was chief minority counsel to the Senate Watergate Committee. And one more: former U.S. Sen. Howard Baker, from East Tennessee, was the person who asked the famous question "What did the president know and when did he know it?"
Discuss "Deep Throat" as part of our chapter Yahoo! message group.
