When you read Quill, the Society of Professional Journalists' national magazine, you have your finger on the pulse of American journalism — its challenges, opportunities and responsibilities. For more than 90 years, Quill has been a respected and sought-after resource for journalists, industry leaders, students and educators on issues central to journalism.

Quill (ISSN 0033-6475) is published 6 times a year by the Society of Professional Journalists, 3909 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208 The cost is $75 per year. Periodicals postage paid at Indianapolis, Ind., and at other mailing offices.

Story submissions
Quill will review and consider unsolicited manuscripts submitted by email only. Topic pitches and queries to the editor are preferred. Deadline is 45 days prior to publication date (e.g. August 15 for October issue). The decision to publish or edit submissions rests solely with the magazine. Opinions expressed in articles are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the editors or of the Society of Professional Journalists. Email: quill@spj.org.
