Reporters Institute

For Print Journalists
SPJ’s inaugural Reporters Institute — which took place in November 2007 at The Poynter Institute in Florida — was a rousing success, as 35 young journalists gathered for four days of professional development, camaraderie and inspiration. In 2008, we held a second Reporters Institute where 36 participants took part in the program. At this time, a Reporters Institute focused on print journalists is not yet scheduled for 2009. Please check back often for updates.

For Broadcast Journalists
The first Reporters Institute aimed at broadcast journalists will be held July 19-22, 2009 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Thirty-six journalists will be invited to attend the program and get a crash course in all things broadcast! The application deadline is May 21, so get support from your news director and apply today!
