Program Schedule

10 a.m.-Noon: Writing That Works Online

Writing for the Web is different than writing for any other medium. To be effective online, it helps to understand how people use the Web and why search engine optimization is critical. Learn how to drive clicks with better Web headlines and user-friendly story structures. Take away tips and tools that will enhance your work online.

Noon-1 p.m.: Lunch

Lunch is provided as part of your registration.

1-3 p.m.: Follow the Noise

The focus of this program is to make journalists better listeners and give them the newest tools to do so. Applicable for all levels, participants will learn about the newest search engines, the latest social media communication tools, the reasons for using certain tools in specific situations, and techniques for letting technology do some of the work. Participants will complete interactive exercises and see firsthand how efficiency and reach can be increased with just a few mouse clicks.
