My journalism career has spanned over 30 years. My reporting and editing experience includes positions at Minnesota community newspapers: the Prior Lake American and the Montevideo American News. I was managing editor of Press Publications in White Bear Lake, where I oversaw the publication of six community newspapers and a staff of 12. I am currently assistant director of the Minnesota House of Representatives Public Information Services office and editor of Session Weekly newsmagazine, but I retain my journalism connections as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism teaching a course on community journalism. I am a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Minnesota Newspaper Association where I serve on the education committee. I present workshops, including to the Minnesota Newspaper Association, on writing topics and the legislative process.
