Work has previously appeared: Daily Newspaper, Community Newspaper

I'm a writer. It's what I love to do, and I'm committed to telling the stories that need to be told through ethical journalism.

While I’m a journalism major, I also have a background in sociology and creative writing, and I have the ability to write in diverse styles, from hard news to opinion to reviews to features.

I started out writing for the Oracle, the University of South Florida’s award-winning daily newspaper, in both news and features, where I learned to write on deadline and to generate good story ideas. In the summer of 2009, I wrote for and worked with the Pelican Press, where I excelled in almost every area of the newsroom, including editing, layout and design.

I recently completed a semester-long internship with USF Alumni Voice magazine, where I edited copy, published news items to the Alumni Association website and updated the association’s social marketing sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

As the president of the USF chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, I also gained great leadership and teamwork skills. I’ve been a member for three years, advancing from my position as secretary to vice president to president, organizing panels, speaking events, tutorials and fundraisers.
