I recently renewed my national membership. I am a Chicago native, and a member of the local Chicago chapter. I am a member of the NABJ and the local Milwaukee and Chicago chapters. I am also a member of the Milwaukee Press Club, and the NLGJA.
I am cuurently a resident of Milwaukee and a full time graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Cultural Foundations of Education. Someday, I'll be an education reporter and an alumnus of the Columbia U Graduate School of Journalism. Before all of that happens, I need to start writing again in the middle of my studies. My BA in journalism is from Texas Southern University, an HBCU in Houston. I interned at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel (1996), San Antonio Express-News, (1999), The Arizona Republic (as a Pulliam Journalism Fellow, and the Chicago Tribune. I have also interned at several African-American weeklies and at the Milwaukee Public Museum in the Education Dept.
