Sadie Babits is an award-winning journalist who can often be found with headphones on her head, a mic in one hand, a recorder in the other and a camera around her neck. She’s spent her professional life working in sound, listening to people’s stories and then sharing them with public radio listeners. Her work has aired on National Public Radio shows including Morning Edition and All Things Considered as well as WBUR’s Only a Game and The Environment Report. As a former International Reporting Project fellow, she covered water and sustainability issues in the East African country of Kenya. She’s also covered the Tour de France, uncovered a scandal at Grand Canyon National Park which earned her a National Edward R. Murrow award. Over the years she’s hosted a morning show for Arizona Public Radio and most recently was the News Director for Boise State Radio, Idaho’s largest public radio station. She is now an independent radio producer, writer, editor and photographer based in Portland, Oregon. You can hear Sadie off an on doing on-air hosting for Oregon Public Broadcasting.
