Bio (click to expand) As a staff reporter-turned-freelance journalist, Anna Pratt, who lives in Minneapolis, Minn., has ventured into garbage houses, spent the night in a homeless shelter and witnessed a fistfight in a church basement, all for various stories. Her byline has appeared in the Star Tribune, The Line, the Southwest Journal, the Minnesota Independent and several suburban and community papers, web publications and broadcast media in the Twin Cities. Pratt is active with the Society of Professional Journalists' freelance community and she serves as the treasurer for the award-winning Minnesota Pro Chapter of SPJ.

My forte: Translating difficult subject matter into lively, readable copy. My specialty: Personal finance, with a keen eye on taxes. My passion: Helping people attain a better understanding of how to make, save and wisely spend their money. I created the tax component for and have served as editor and primary writer for that site for the last 10 years. I blend tax and other personal finance topics in my monthly AustinWoman magazine column, "Worth." I am a regular contributor of articles to various online business (NFIB, and investment company (T. Rowe Price) sites. A collection of my tax articles is included in the book, "The Gambler's Guide to Taxes" (Kensington Press).
