I graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2007 with a bachelor’s of arts degree in journalism. I worked at a daily newspaper in northwestern Connecticut for nearly three years. I covered school systems, municipal governments, human interest stories and local businesses. I earned first place in the 2009 Society of Professional Journalists Connecticut Chapter competition in the category of investigative reporting for newspapers below 21,000 circulation for my article exposing a sex scandal at a police department. I earned second place in the category of reporting series for my articles about the sex scandal and its fallout. Additionally, I have used audio and video equipment to supplement my written articles. I have also written breaking news stories and posted them online.
