Please note: Some of SPJ's websites, including its blog network and the Journalist's Toolbox, are currently down following some unexpected activity that knocked them offline. They will return later this week at the latest. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Work has previously appeared: Daily Newspaper, Community Newspaper, Online Newsmagazine

My name is Stephen M. Keller, a photojournalist specializing in still photography and online video production. I’ve interviewed U.S. Presidents and Senators, covered breaking national news and shot high profile events like the 2010 BCS National Championship, South by Southwest Music Festival and Austin City Limits Music Festival. As a freelance journalist, my clients include the Austin American-Statesman, Austin360.com and ESPN RISE. I have developed a unique video style which many professionals have described as “cutting edge” and cinematic. When shooting and editing, I view my feature stories as mini-documentaries carefully composing my shots and putting myself in the right place for the action to unfold before my lens. We live in an exciting time for visual journalism. Online and mobile platforms offer the industry a way to tell strong character-driven narratives while also pushing the envelope artistically. Coming from a background in online media and newspapers, I work well under the pressure of impending deadline and can juggle daily assignments with multiple long-term features. My still photography and video portfolios can be viewed at: http://www.s-kellerphoto.com/
