Daylina Miller is a multimedia journalist and soon-to-be graduate of the University of South Florida. She currently produces multimedia stories for USF News, USA TODAY College and Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders Steampunk Magazine. Daylina has been doing journalism for going on nine years, going back to her freshman year of high school. She ran the paper there and went on to be a community columnist for The Tampa Tribune. In college, she produced an article and video for the Tribune and WFLA Channel 8 News through a multimedia class. She’s had a variety of journalistic experiences, from spending a weekend producing a homeless shelter newspaper to founding a branch of Her Campus Magazine at USF. She’s written about many topics, ranging from cold cases being reinvestigated and the local green movement, to Muggle Quidditch and a zombie “outbreak” on campus. She is also the founder of the Tampa Bay Steampunk Society and runs a related blog and Twitter feed. In 2010, Daylina held a seminar called "Writing for Your Audience" for the Florida Scholastic Press Association convention to give back to the journalism group that guided her in high school. She is also an active participant in Poynter Institute for Media Studies’ seminars. In her free time, Daylina enjoys scouring flea markets and antique malls for Victorian trinkets, listening to old records, reading steampunk literature, traveling, visiting old cemeteries, watching every zombie movie ever made and honing her iphonography skills.
