I graduated in sociology from Tulane University and returned to New Orleans many years later, following Hurricane Katrina and a master's degree in journalism, to tell marvelous stories about this incomparable city. I've been a stringer for both UPI and Reuters and contributed to several Illinois publications while still a journalism student at U of I Champaign-Urbana where I won a prestigious award for creative feature writing. I regularly contribute to the New Orleans Times-Picayune and would like to write features for a national audience. I am particularly interested the South, notably the coastal environment, race and social issues. I live in the 9th Ward in a Global Green house.
