Specializes in: Business(emphasis on real estate, gasoline prices and green issues), environment, profiles, family issues
I've been a journalist for 20 years, and recently moved to the freelance work, focusing on environmental and business news.
My "day job" is as managing editor of Pacific Lutheran University's alumni magazine and the student e-newszine. I'm also in charge of redeveloping the department pages to include flash, audio and video...and more blogs and readable stories.
I started a successful real estate blog -the Open House- at the last newspaper I worked at in Tacoma, the TNT, where I covered real estate, investigative stories and consumer news.
At the Partnership for Learning, an ed-non profit in Seattle, I started another successful blog-The Hall Monitor- directed the redesign of the Web site and edited the monthly newsletter.
I've taught one upper level journalism class at PLU, and plan to teach more next fall.
I live in Kent, Wa, with my husband Gary, assignment editor for KOMO TV, three cats, a dog and a bearded dragon.
