Bio (click to expand) As a staff reporter-turned-freelance journalist, Anna Pratt, who lives in Minneapolis, Minn., has ventured into garbage houses, spent the night in a homeless shelter and witnessed a fistfight in a church basement, all for various stories. Her byline has appeared in the Star Tribune, The Line, the Southwest Journal, the Minnesota Independent and several suburban and community papers, web publications and broadcast media in the Twin Cities. Pratt is active with the Society of Professional Journalists' freelance community and she serves as the treasurer for the award-winning Minnesota Pro Chapter of SPJ.

I am a writer and have been since I was a little. I have devoted most of my life to writing, and, in particular journalism. I worked as a columnist and award-winning business reporter for the Albuquerque Journal before attending graduate school at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. At the Albuquerque Journal, I covered restaurants, retail, tourism, community business, consumer issues, economic development and more. While in graduate school, I have built my freelance writing and editing business and have have articles appear in Winds of Change, Fresh,, Book Business, and New England Psychologist magazines. I graduated with my master's in Writing and Publishing from Emerson in May. I recently moved to Portland, Oregon.
