Moriah Costa is a multimedia journalist specializing in business and investigative reporting with a passion for storytelling. She is a research assistant at the Washington Business Journal and a freelance journalist. Moriah is a strong believer in transparent journalism and thinks news is a conversation between the reporter and her readers. She strives for accuracy in everything she does and never stops asking why.
Moriah is graduating from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in December 2014. While there, she reported on business and the marijuana industry for Cronkite News Service, a newswire service which serves over 30 newspaper in Arizona. She also interned at Thomson Reuters, the Phoenix Business Journal, the Washington Business Journal, the Goldwater Institute, and the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. Moriah also worked for The State Press, ASU’s student run newspaper. She freelanced for The Arizona Republic, the Arizona Daily Star and InMaricopa.
Her reporting interests include small business, technology, banking, and the intersection between government and the private sector. Moriah’s work is featured in the News & Observer, The Sacramento Bee, and others.
