On a 20-year career path spanning photojournalism, news reporting, writing and editing, John Blodgett is a freelance journalist building a specialty in health, science and environmental reporting and photography. He is also writing a journalistic memoir on weight loss and identity. Blodgett has staffed on or contributed to publications that include the Daily Herald, Daily Inter Lake, Boise Weekly, Idaho Press-Tribune, Utah Business, Utah CEO, Salt Lake, City Weekly, and many Fodor’s Travel guides. He has a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and is based in the mountain town of Idyllwild, California, 100 miles east of Los Angeles. (He’s willing to travel.) Blodgett enjoys hiking, watching documentaries and fostering dogs, and follows the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.
