Basically, one of my beats is Indians...as in, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders and other indigenous-type peoples. I'm well-known throughout Indian Country (also known as Native America)as well as in mainstream media as a "go-to" person for accurate, complete coverage of issues within tribal communities. I'm an enrolled member of the Xolon (Jolon) Salinan Tribe, a Central California Indian tribe, and as a Native person myself, I love to shatter stereotypes about the cultures, challenges, and achievements of Native America in all its diversity. I've paid my dues, and today I enjoy relationships with publications ranging from Arizona Capitol Times to Native Peoples and U.S. Airways magazines. I also write for whoever else is willing to pay me.
