Sylvia Mendoza is an award-winning journalist recognized as a thought leader and one of "50 Voices of the Future in Journalism" at UC San Diego Extension where she teaches. Selected as "1 of 25 Influential Latina Leaders," she was thrilled to be invited to a United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women" forum. Her books include: The Book of Latina Women: 150 Vidas of Passion, Strength and Success and Sonia Sotomayor: A Biography. Her latest essay appears in the academic anthology, Label Me Latina/o.
She is President of Mendoza Communications, a writing and editing services company, where she loves helping struggling authors find the heart of their stories.
