Bio (click to expand) As a staff reporter-turned-freelance journalist, Anna Pratt, who lives in Minneapolis, Minn., has ventured into garbage houses, spent the night in a homeless shelter and witnessed a fistfight in a church basement, all for various stories. Her byline has appeared in the Star Tribune, The Line, the Southwest Journal, the Minnesota Independent and several suburban and community papers, web publications and broadcast media in the Twin Cities. Pratt is active with the Society of Professional Journalists' freelance community and she serves as the treasurer for the award-winning Minnesota Pro Chapter of SPJ.

Susan L. Weiss has been working in the social service field for over the last 20 years, much of that time has been devoted to advocacy-based supports for people with disabilities. After working as a Job Coach and Job Developer with several private non-profits, she opened Catalysts for Change. For those four years, Susan had the privilege of supporting a diverse group of individuals with disabilities to find jobs that they loved. During that same time she began to serve as the Editor and Head writer of Bridges Newspaper, which is completely focused on Disability Issues. Seven years later, the paper continues to be nicely received in and out of state and grows in circulation and advertising revenues. For the last several years she has been the Statewide Advisor/Program Coordinator for the Self-Advocacy Project through the Arc of New Mexico. (On Contract through the New Mexico Department of Health's Developmental Disabilities Support Division. Susan works with Self-Advocates to promote Self-Advocacy concepts and start People First Leadership Chapters throughout New Mexico. The group works as Liaisons to travel statewide, providing training's and workshops to individuals and agencies. Susan works to educate advocates on "best practices" for creating policy objectives, leadership and team building skills, and their efforts to become "citizen lobbyists."
