Work has previously appeared: National Daily Newspaper, Daily Newspaper, Community Newspaper, National Magazine, Local/Regional Magazine, Trade Magazine, Online Trade Magazine, Newsletter

I am a freelance writer and book critic whose credits include USA Today, Business Traveler (U.S. and U.K. editions), Dreamscapes (travel supplement for the Toronto Globe and Mail), San Jose Magazine, Las Vegas, Attache (U.S. Airways inflight) and Palm Springs Life. I am a generalist, able to write on a variety of topics, from travel to business to fitness.

In the course of my 20 year-career, I have interviewed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, playwright Arthur Miller, Larry McMurtry, Mickey Spillane, U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins, Alexander McCall Smith and Barry Bonds, among others. I have reviewed more than 500 books (fiction and non-fiction) for publications including Booklist (the flagship magazine of the American Library Association), Publishers Weekly, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Chicago Sun-Times.

I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Radcliffe Publishing Procedures Course at Harvard University (now located to Columbia University).

I love the great outdoors, and would be happy if I could hike every day of the year.
