Work has previously appeared: In neighborhood newspapers, in newsletters, in my dreams on bookshelves....

By accident, I have become the West Seattle and Ballard neighborhoods beat reporter for the Alaskan Way Viaduct, very local newspapers covering a very local story.... It has politics, competing economic interests, vested stakeholders, and nostalgic engineers. The story has allowed me to write about earthquake damage, transportation infrastructure, public tours, political agendas; from hard facts to light features.... I've also covered baby harbor seals, sunning themselves on Alki Beach and caught in fishers nets.... The city parks department is finally building a long fought for renovation to a statue pedestal.... All local issues, local people, local stories: up close, in detail -- and no where else but in the local newspapers.... I am looking to do more of the same, on a grander scale.
