Work has previously appeared: Utne, The Humanist, Free Inquiry, The Communigator, Merge, Left Curve, Canopic Jar, The Juke Jar, Jacksonville Business Journal, Folio Weekly, Lede, Cowford, JU Navigator, FCCJ Campus Voice, Freethinker.

Have been writing freelance since 1984. Had my own music-biz column in statewide and nationwide publications. Wrote more than 150 articles for the Jacksonville Business Journal, a dozen or so for alternative weekly Folio Weekly (Jacksonville), several national magazines (Utne, The Humanist, Free Inquiry, Left Curve, The Communigator) and was a stringer for AP's Miami bureau during the 2004 election. I also taught writing for mass media (mostly journalism) at UF and at Flagler College and am a quick editor, well-versed in AP style.
