Instructor Diane Ortiz has been involved in training and safety education for over 25 years. As a motorcycle journalist and editor she has road and track tested an array of motorcycles for various publications including Newsday, Midwest Motorcyclist and WomenRidersNow.com, where she was managing editor. Diane has provided communications for many public service events, most recently using Amateur Radio APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System) technology on her motorcycle to keep track of the lead runners in a recent half marathon in New York. She has presented seminars on various aspects of motorcycling at Americade and other venues, and has won local and national awards for her public relations activities. Diane is also the president and founder of the Big Apple Motorcycle School, a motorcycle safety training and education organization that will be at the International Motorcycle Show this year.
