Bio (click to expand) As a staff reporter-turned-freelance journalist, Anna Pratt, who lives in Minneapolis, Minn., has ventured into garbage houses, spent the night in a homeless shelter and witnessed a fistfight in a church basement, all for various stories. Her byline has appeared in the Star Tribune, The Line, the Southwest Journal, the Minnesota Independent and several suburban and community papers, web publications and broadcast media in the Twin Cities. Pratt is active with the Society of Professional Journalists' freelance community and she serves as the treasurer for the award-winning Minnesota Pro Chapter of SPJ.

I'm confident covering crime, agriculture, aviation, parenting, cults & new religions. I'm a NABET Newswriter with four years of experience at WMAQ-TV Chicago. As a wire reporter, I covered gangs, homicide and City Hall for the City News Bureau of Chicago. I'm the former Managing Editor of the Indianapolis Recorder, the nation's third oldest African-American newspaper. I have freelanced at the Indianapolis Business Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Indianapolis News. I've held internships at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Saturday Evening Post. I'm also a former editor in chief of the IUPUI Sagamore. Most recently, I'm writing for St. Louis Woman, Indianapolis Woman & Farm World Newspaper. I'm completing a master's degree in religious studies at Trinity Divinity School.
