Specializes in: Profiles, Business, Government, Environment, Farm
Drawing on a 30-year background in newspaper reporting and community relations, I bring experience and commitment to the job of telling each story. Additionally, I am available for photography, proposal writing and correspondence.
My experience includes nine years as the Will County Bureau Chief for the Daily Journal of Kankakee, and four years as the Business Editor for the Barrington Courier-Review and Countryside Newspapers, headquartered in Barrington, IL.
I hold a master’s in communication studies from Governors State University and a bachelor’s in print journalism from Southern Illinois University.
I live on a cattle and grain farm in Manhattan, Illinois, where my husband, Jim, and I have raised four children.
I am a founding member, and current president, of the Will County Environmental Network, a grass-roots environmental organization devoted to working to protect and defend the environment. I served as a member of the Will County technical advisory committee charged with the task of locating the county’s first landfill, and as a member of the Northeastern Illinois Groundwater Committee, sponsored by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
