Ryan Laskodi is an award-winning journalist, freelance writer/editor, media critic and social media expert based out of Santa Fe Springs, California. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

A strong writer since grade school, his journalism journey began in the fall of 2009 when he signed up for Journalism 101 at Fullerton College. It was there that Ryan discovered his true passion and calling in life. Starting off as a print journalist he also studied broadcast and multimedia journalism.

Publications he has written for include the award-winning college newspapers The Hornet and The Daily Titan as well as the award-winning student magazine The Torch. While at The Hornet he was recognized by his peers as “Writer of the Semester” and “Writing Superstar.” At The Daily Titan he was awarded “3rd Place Best Multimedia Package” and “3rd Place Best Enterprise Story.” Ryan also worked as an intern for the Pulitzer-Prize winning newspaper The Orange County Register and the website AmericasComedy.com

Most recently Ryan freelanced for Geek Juice Media, where he created and served as the sole news writer, later becoming editor-in-chief, of the news division. He also worked for the horror media blog Hidden Horrors You Must See where he expanded the online reach of the blog and served as the editor and social media director.

He is proficient in Microsoft Office, iMovie, Garageband, Audacity, WordPress. He is also comfortable with InDesign, Photoshop and Final Cut. Ryan is also a proud member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
