After starting in journalism in 2004 with Michigan's weekly LGBT newspaper Between The Lines and then veering into nonprofit communications for several years, I returned to reporting as a paid freelancer for Daily Kos in 2018. Since then my byline has appeared at The Appeal, Political Research Associates, and the Ann Arbor Observer, a local monthly newsmagazine.
My areas of expertise revolve around injustice and efforts to overcome or change unjust policies -- from depriving a quarter million Detroiters of water service for Daily Kos to the huge racial imbalance on our nations' state courts and in prosecutors' offices for The Appeal.
